DESCRIPTION:Saturday\, August 15 | Afternoon Dive & Dockside Celebration \nGrateful Divers Worldwide is excited to announce the First Annual Grateful Lionfish Derby\, taking place at South Florida Diving Headquarters in Pompano Beach. \nThis will be an official FWC Lionfish Derby\, with Zookeeper involved\, bringing together divers\, conservation\, community\, and a whole lot of fun for a great cause. \nThe derby will take place during an afternoon dive aboard South Florida Diving Headquarters\, followed by a dockside celebration where we’ll cook up the catch\, enjoy food\, drinks\, libations\, and host a raffle with tons of great prizes. \nPrizes will be awarded for: \nMost Lionfish \nBiggest Lionfish \nSmallest Lionfish \nWe’ll keep everything right at the dock for easy logistics\, making it simple for divers\, volunteers\, friends\, family\, and supporters to join the celebration after the dive. \nMore details\, registration information\, raffle prizes\, and event schedule will be announced soon. \nFor now\, save the date and get ready to hunt lionfish\, protect our reefs\, and support a mission that matters. \nAll money raised will go toward Grateful Divers Worldwide’s mission of making the ocean accessible to everyone. \n

DESCRIPTION:Sunday\, August 30\, 2026 | Morning Pool Session & Afternoon Two-Tank Dive \nGrateful Divers Worldwide\, in partnership with the Barracks Legend Foundation\, invites veterans to join us for a day of connection\, camaraderie\, and underwater adventure in Pompano Beach. \nThis event is open to veterans of all experience levels\, including first-time divers\, returning divers\, and certified divers looking to get back in the water. \nThe Barracks Legend Foundation supports veterans by creating meaningful experiences that reduce isolation\, strengthen camaraderie\, and promote mental wellness and connection. \nThe day will begin with a morning pool session at Sands Harbor\, where participants can build comfort and confidence with scuba equipment in a controlled environment. After lunch and time together\, the group will head to South Florida Diving Headquarters to board the Goliath for an afternoon two-tank dive. \nParticipants must review and complete the required medical paperwork before entering the water.
